Recipe Notes

I have used amul fresh cream here.  Dairy whipping cream works well too.

You can use a manual whisk, a hand mixer or even your regular electric mixer to whip up the cream.

Using an ice bath is optional . I find it gives better results and also helps to whip the cream faster.

It is important to always seal the ice cream tray while placing it in the refrigerator. This prevents ice crystals from forming.

Whisking the semi frozen ice cream helps to get a creamier result and prevents forming ice crystals.

Hope you enjoyed this recipe and try it soon.

  • Hi Akhila,
I am a beginner in baking. Can whipping mentioned in above 2 steps can be done by normal electric mixer? Would it be same as whipping done by electric hand blender? In general also, in many of the recepies, where they mention beat butter, sugar with electric blender – can be achieved by putting in electric mixer? Please do answer. Thanks in advance.

    • Hi Kavya
Yes in most cases you can ‘whip’ in your electric mixer too. But in case you use milk fat/ malai overwhipping will cause the butter to separate, so you need to be a bit careful in this case.

  • Thanks for the reply Akila. So using hand blender is preferred to electric mixer right? And if we are using electric mixer, we should be careful that the mixture should not be over whipped.?
