Toffee Fudge: Christmas Treats

Holidays are a lot about eating yummy goodies. This toffee fudge is a perfect ‘quick’ treat to please kids and adults alike. My facebook page is more often than not filled with food related posts. I absolutely loved the toffee fudge video I came across and made it the same evening. This is my kind of recipe- easy, with minimal ingredients and super tasty. Wrap the fudge squares in shiny wrappers and let them adorn your dessert table this Christmas. They will disappear in no time, trust me.

These toffee fudges have a chewy buttery base topped with dark chocolate and chopped nuts. And would you believe how easy this recipe is?

Instructions
  1. Take the butter and sugar in a deep non-stick pan.
  2. Place over low heat and allow the butter and sugar to melt.
  3. You may swirl the pan occasionally to mix the ingredients.
  4. Line a square aluminium tin with parchment and set aside.
  5. Turn off the heat as soon as the sugar butter mixture turns a light shade of amber [honey colour].
  6. Mix in the vanilla essence and salt with a wooden ladle.
  7. Pour into the prepared tin.
  8. After about a minute sprinkle the chopped chocolate all over the hot toffee.
  9. Once you see it start to melt, use a palette knife/ the backside of a spoon to spread the melted chocolate evenly.
  10. Top this with chopped nuts of your choice.
  11. Refrigerate for about an hour or two to allow the toffee fudge to set.
  12. Cut / break your fudge brick and treat your sweet tooth with these melt in the mouth toffee fudges.
  13. Store them in an airtight container.
Recipe Notes

The only thing one needs to worry about, in this recipe, is to not burn the caramel. In case you have a candy thermometer, turn off the heat when the temperature is about 280 degrees F. Don't worry if you turn it off sooner. You will still have a buttery sugary fudge.
